Highlights and Lowlights:

Missouri, snubbed by the BCS after a strong regular season in 2007, got the chance to prove themselves against then-reigning Heavyweight Champ Arkansas to cap the 2007 football season. A dominant win gave Missouri their first title in 11 tries. Missouri went on to romp through 4 opponents, looking invincible at times, before finally losing to Oklahoma State in the 2008 season.

Prior to winning the title against Arkansas, Missouri's first shot at the title was perhaps their best.  In 1924 they fought Southern California to a 20-20 tie, unfortunately not able to take the title as it cannot be taken in a tie.  Missouri's often had a team that played well enough to get the opportunities, but have never been able to quite take the title.  The closest they came since the Southern California tie was in 1998 in a 17-14 loss to Texas A&M.
