Time to pick

Okay, the first big moment for the main site is coming tomorrow. Time for me to make my pick.

If you've seen the home site, you know that the way the heavyweight football champs site works is, a team is the champ until beaten, the team that beats them is the new champ.

Now, with that approach, being a Nebraskan I would be rooting for Southern Cal, as Nebraska plays Southern Cal early next year. Nebraska plays Texas as well, but it's a little later and there's more time for Texas to lose the title before that game.

That said, I'm going to be in the minority and pick Texas. This is a solid team that is very focused and has something to prove, and they have the talent to do it. While I don't think they have more talent than USC, they're not far behind. It will be a close game, but Texas is going to surprise a lot of people, 31-27.
