Wow, how did that happen?
There was a comment earlier asking how LSU could have far less shot at the title than Louisiana Lafayette. Ultimately the answer to that was that Louisiana Lafayette has more potential opportunities. In the end, LSU's only shot begins with Texas losing their opener to North Texas. If Texas wins that game, LSU moves to a zero percent probability. Keep in mind: this is not a declaration that LSU is a lesser team than anyone above them, it's more that this is just the way the schedule plays out.
While creating the Ohio State page on my site, it brought up a similar question -- in my opinion Ohio State and Texas look like two of the best shots at winning the BCS this year. So how is it that Michigan, who came off an uncharacteristic 7-5 season last year, could have as much chance at the title as Ohio State? Again, it comes down to schedule. The fact of the matter is Michigan could have a repeat performance of last year, but the nature of that particular rivalry would have me still making it very close to a 50-50 split on that game. Since it's the last game for both teams, 50% odds would mean the two teams end up with the same rating.
I'm beginning to put together Big 10 team pages, so any input on sites for particular teams would be helpful. For each team I'm trying to list independent sites. For some of the teams with lesser followings or for whom i've had trouble finding sites, I've had to sometimes list the page for them on larger sites such as Rivals.com, etc. However, My desire is to link to sites or blogs that are dedicated to particular teams rather than pages on national sites such as Rivals, ESPN, etc.
Why spend all that time yakking about that? Mostly to get to the point: I've asked this before but if you know of any good independent sites related to specific teams, I'm always looking for more links to place on team pages as well as on my Blog Directory page
