Congratulations Buckeyes
Well, I've seen 2 heavyweight championship games on TV now since starting this site, and both of them, the title changed hands. Buckeye fans will probably want to keep me away from the TV for awhile.
If you've looked in on the site the past couple days you probably noticed that I was slow in updating the site. I'm temporarily without internet access so I have to load any changes on to a disc, bring it into work and upload from there. Hoping to see that change soon enough.
I'd have to agree with the commentators, that Texas just didn't seem to play with the intensity that they showed against Ohio State last year or in the Rose Bowl. Maybe it's because they didn't feel like they had something to prove. Or maybe Ohio State was just that much better. I gotta say, the Buckeyes sure looked like they'll be tough to beat. It'll be interesting to see what the rest of the season holds.
A couple of thoughts, if you want my personal opinions. I gotta say I was a little disappointed as a Husker fan. Before the Rose Bowl, it was looking good for Nebraska to have a shot at the title, with early games scheduled against both USC and Texas. Now the only chance they'll have is if they happen to play the reigning champ in a bowl game, at least for this year. But on a larger scale, now that I'm living out East, maybe this is a better thing because now that the title has moved East as well, at least comparatively speaking, maybe i can find my way to a title game somewhere. Hmmmm, i wonder if i can get press credentials? Shoot, since I'm declaring a National Championship, maybe i can find an ugly colored jacket to wear and get treated like royalty like the bowl committee guys or something and get to watch the game from the sidelines or something. Woulda been nice to be able to do so Saturday night, I coulda wandered up to Matthew McConoughey during the game and said dude, you look like an idiot, bring it down a notch. Hey, i like the guy in most his movies and stuff but he was a bit of overkill....
Okay, I digress. Hmmmm.... an upset win by Cincinatti would be nice, they play a of games closer to here including Va Tech. Road trip to C-Bus is only 420 from here or so, still a bit of a haul, but the Buckeyes don't get any closer than that. Still a lot closer than Austin or LA.
The year's already off to a fun start... here's to a great 2006.
