Conte Still Unhappy Even after Two Signings

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is reportedly still not happy with the club’s transfer dealings, despite Chelsea bringing in Torino defender Davide Zappacosta. The right back, who is expected to provide competition for Victor Moses in the right wing back position, has been signed for £ 23 million.

Danny Drinkwater has also been brought in as the defensive midfield option from Leicester City for around £ 35 million. Sky Italia have claimed that Conte was extremely unhappy with the transfer business of the reigning Premier league champions. He has also voiced those opinions publicly by saying that Chelsea need at least four or five new players in order to compete on all four fronts. Ever since Everton FC let go of David Moyes and his well known uninspiring albeit safe brand of football, the Toffees has met a situation where they couldn’t really say if they are better off with the Scot gone.

Roberto Martinez – the guy that worked his magic with Wigan Athletic back in the day – was the first man given the chance to show the Merseyside club that one could play good football and still achieve the reasonable seasonal targets

Known for his nonchalant attitude to building defensive walls to protect ones goal line from his opponent – a direct contrast to the style they’ve being used to for the past 11 years – the Spaniards first problem was the over leakiness of his defence line. Everton ended up conceding goals above the average recorded during Moyes’ time.

That would have been overlooked only that their position on the EPL settings ended up n0t meeting expectations.. Continue reading KOEMAN MUST HAVE SOMETHING BETTER TO SHOW COME NEXT SEASON

Are Real Madrid´s Pepe and Leicester City´s RiyadMahrez on the move to PSG?

From the looks of it, Pepe´s time as a player of Real Madrid is about to be over as the Portuguese defender is starting to see the bench on a more consistent basis and taking into consideration that his contract is expiring in the summer, it does not appear to be very likely that ZinedineZidane is interested in offering the 34 year old defender a contract renewal.

Raphael Varane has slowly been pushing Pepe away from the main team and the French defender has turned into one of the more influential players in the entire Real Madrid squad while Pepe has been doing nothing but fading away to the sidelines in the background.

It´s because of all these reasons that rumors have been spreading around which are linking Pepe to a number of different clubs and one of those teams is Paris Saint-Germain.

If PSG is indeed interested in signing Pepe, they will face competition from clubs in the Chinese Super League as a few have showed desire to secure the services of Pepe and Asian clubs have not been afraid to splash out big amounts of cash in players. French giant Paris St Germain embarrassed Barcelona 4-0 on Tuesday in the first leg of the UEFA Champions League Round of 16 clash.

PSG were spectacular, as they did not meet an organized Barca side. The French champions dominated the game whilst the lacklustre Spanish team looked on.

The La Liga champions emerged leaders in Group C, winning five of the six matches. The visitors to Parc des Princes did not seem to want anything from the game. The game is in contention for the worst performance by Barcelona in recent memory, if not the absolute worst.

Angel Di Maria opened scoring for the hosts with a perfect free kick, giving the goalkeeper no chance. Former Wolfsburg forward who joined PSG recently, Julian Draxler scored the second of the game with an angled drive. Di Maria added another, sending the ball to the top corner. Edison Cavani completed the rout with an amazing effort, running down the field in celebration.

The famous MSN could not inspire the team to get anything from the game, as many would have thought. Luis Enrique’s men face a huge task if they are to comeback and send four goals past PSG at Nou Camp to remain in the tournament – something no team has done in the Champions League. French 21-year-old midfielder, Adrien Rabiot has been backed by Paris Saint Germaine coach Unai Emery to excel in playing for both France and PSG.

According to Unai: “I am very happy with Adrien Rabiot he has a great future at the Parc des Pinces and in the French national team.”

The midfielder has featured in all PSG’s top flight games this season unlike last season where he was only able to appear in 24 Ligue 1 matches.

This is one of the reasons why the former Manchester City protégé is yet to be capped at the international level.

According to his current coach: “He exhausts himself physically. He had a very good game in Caen. I spoke with him because I thought he could be doing even more even though what he has been doing so far is very good.” Continue reading EMERY PRAISES RABIOT; COMMENDS SILVA

French football giant Paris St. Germain qualified for the round of 16 at the ongoing UEFA Champions League tournament.

They joined La Liga side Atletico Madrid, German champions Bayern Munich, and Group A log leaders, Arsenal in making the final 16 with two games to go.

Thomas Meunier got a late winner for the French side as they defeated Basel 2-1 in a hard-fought encounter. French star Blaise Matuidi got the game’s opener in before Luca Zuffi equalized for the hosts. At a point, it seemed as if both sides would share the spoils before Meunier’s late winner. The victory meant PSG were through to the next stage with games to go. Basel goalkeeper Tomas Vaclik tried his best to stop the visitors from getting a victory but he could not stop the 90th minute volley. Basel put up a spirited contest despite Serey Die being sent off after picking up two yellow cards. PSG and Arsenal are the two sides to continue from the group. Edinson Cavani grabbed a crucial brace that helped Paris Saint Germain defeat Ludogorets to secure their first win in the UEFA Champions League this season.

PSG won the game 3-1, but Cavani’s goals were important to seal the victory.

PSG manager Unai Emery played a draw in the group’s opening performance against Arsenal. For a team that wants European success badly, they had to quickly get over the 2-0 loss in the French Ligue 1 to Toulouse to win their game against Ludogorets. The Bulgarian side got the first goal of the game in the 15th minute through Natanael. PSG could not afford another slip, so they fought back hard to get an equalizer through Blaise Matuidi. Cavani’s two goals ensured PSG equalled Arsenal’s four points from two games.

Paris St. Germain found themselves were under pressure from very early in the game. Thiago Motta fouled Svetoslav Dyakov on the edge of the area. The host were awarded a free kick which Natanael scored, beating goalkeeper Alphonse Areola. PSG came all out after conceding the goal. The consistent attacks proved a bargain when they equalized.

Laurent Blanc set to leave Paris Saint-Germain

Laurent Blanc is set to leave his post as the manager of Paris Saint-Germain after spending 3 years at the head of the team.

His agent has confirmed that he will be leaving before the end of the week and will receive compensation that amounts to around €20m.

Paris Saint-Germain president Nasser l-Khelaifi said that he wanted to bring some change to the French side after the club has failed to make progress in the Champions League. Indeed, it is the fourth year in a row that the club has exited the Champions League at the quarter-finals stage, and the president believes that there need to be a change at the head of the club if the club is going to progress.

Laurent Blanc’s agent has revealed that both parties are in discussion when it comes to the compensation package and that everything is being done in a friendly and professional manner. He said that Paris Saint-Germain are respecting the rules of the contract and that his client will be leaving the club by the end of the week.

French champions Paris Saint Germain are set to get a new coach in the coming season as current coach Laurent Blanc is expected to leave the club this week.

The manager’s agent Jean-Pierre Bernes told French radio station Europe 1, that the coach would leave the club. Blanc has won the domestic treble in each of his last two seasons with PSG, having won the French Ligue 1 crown in all three campaigns of his tenure.

Blanc, who is 50 years old, signed a new two-year contract extension in February but his spell at Parc des Princes is now set to end. Bernes said:

“We’re in discussions with PSG directors and it’s being done in an excellent atmosphere from both sides. Simply put, there are rules that need to be respected to end a contract and PSG are respecting those.”

The reason behind the sack is speculated as the limitations in Europe. The likely replacement for Blanc is Unai Emery. Emery departed Sevilla after leading the Spanish side to three straight Europa League titles. The club believes with more funds and better players, Emery would be able to get PSG to a farther place in the European tournament. Continue reading PSG TO GET A NEW COACH FOR THE COMING SEASON
