The Texas Tech Red Raiders defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys in another battle of Big 12 powerhouses in their first title defense after taking the title from Texas. The Cowboys, hoping to take back the title they lost only 2 weeks ago, could not keep up with the Tech offensive attack.

The title has changed hands 3 times in the past 5 weeks. The trend may continue, considering that the Big 12 South currently has 4 of the top 8 rated teams in the country. Texas Tech has the toughest road ahead in recent history if it wants to hold on to the title, as it will have to beat 4th ranked Oklahoma, an improving Baylor, then will likely face number 13 Missouri in the conference championship game, not to mention their bowl opponent. This may be the most brutal end run ever for a team to finish out as heavyweight champion.
