Longest Run of Title Game Victories: 4 Wins
Baylor was a relative latecomer in the Heavyweight National Championship scene, having not had a title match until 1959.
In 1991, Baylor grabbed their first title with a win against Colorado, and managed to hold on for three more games before losing to Rice. Two weeks later, they got the title back by beating Texas Christian, defended their title once, and then lost it again to Texas Tech.
When the Big 12 was formed, there was a lot of speculation that Baylor could be the surprise team of the four Texas schools that joined up with the old Big 8. Unfortunately, the surprise was in how badly they struggled since. Just recently, they've started to become competitive and many believe they are on the way to turning their fortunes around.
