French 21-year-old midfielder, Adrien Rabiot has been backed by Paris Saint Germaine coach Unai Emery to excel in playing for both France and PSG.
According to Unai: “I am very happy with Adrien Rabiot he has a great future at the Parc des Pinces and in the French national team.”
The midfielder has featured in all PSG’s top flight games this season unlike last season where he was only able to appear in 24 Ligue 1 matches.
This is one of the reasons why the former Manchester City protégé is yet to be capped at the international level.
According to his current coach: “He exhausts himself physically. He had a very good game in Caen. I spoke with him because I thought he could be doing even more even though what he has been doing so far is very good.”
PSG’s captain Thiago Silva recovered from a hip injury he sustained in pre-season and made matchday squad for the Champions League group A game against Arsenal. The match ended in a draw, brightening Les Parisiens chance of topping the table.
Unlike Dunga, current Brazilian coach, Tite has integrated Thiago back into the Samba Boys squad and the center-back is set to play in the upcoming 2018 World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Venezuela in October.
Unai Emery however insists Silva’s primary focus is PSG:
“He is feeling well. He is improving physically after his injury and he needs to play several games in a row. He was with us during the pre-season; he did not go to the Olympics. But his priority is to play with PSG then he thinks about the Selecao.”
